Marquees’ office on Cliff Hill in Gorleston-on-Sea overlooks the North Sea, the River Yare and the harbour entrance of Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads, on the east coast of Norfolk, England.
100 years ago Great Yarmouth's port was at the centre of the greatest herring fishery in the world. Fish stocks have declined, but the port and harbour is thriving today with regular oil and gas industry traffic as well as some pleasure craft. Pilots take ships in and out of port day and night because the harbour entrance’s turn is so tight.
All is about to change very soon, however, as East Port is building a new Outer Harbour beside the north pier, seen on the left in the picture. The actual building of the port started in June 2007, and in another year or two you could be sailing into or direct from our new port in Norfolk!
The
Outer Harbour will link Norfolk with Holland (Ijmuiden, close to Amsterdam) bringing tourists and business from Northern Europe our way. Prosperity is also on the way as businesses invest in the area!
As
you can easily see, Budget Marquees can have no customers to the east, so this webcam is designed to bring us extra attention from elsewhere. Hopefully, you – as a company employee or business owner - may be interested in either buying a branded Pop-up for a trade or county show, or (if you’re local) in hiring a clearspan marquee for a party.
